Sectors and industries such as Water, Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Hydroelectric, Petrochemical, Automotive, Aerospace and Building Services can all benefit from surge analysis expertise. Whether they are dealing with inherent surge problems such as: 

  • potable foul, or storm water
  • full or partially-full flow regimes
  • firewater systems
  • cooling systems
  • water injection
  • oil and chemical pipelines
  • power or fuel systems


We wish to foster international trans-industry and trans-functional dissemination of best practice relating to the design, simulation, monitoring and control of systems subject to unsteady flow phenomena. The Conference will to bring together plant owners and operators with designers, consultants, surge analysts, software simulation providers and users, equipment suppliers and constructors from a wide range of industries to share their experiences and hence enhance their expertise.

Practical trouble shooting & Spectacular failures sessions

Two sessions on Friday are designed to be of immediate practical help to delegates. Firstly we will discuss real problems where designs or constructions behave in an unexpected way and a troubleshooter is needed to diagnose and rectify the problem. Secondly we discuss instances where there was “a spectacular failure.”  We hope these sessions will help illustrate the complexity of designing and predicting surge analysis.
