Mechanical Seals
We have two specialised seal material testing rigs, each comprising a static seal to rotating seal interface within an environmental chamber. Temperature, interface rotary speed and interface axial load can all be controlled. Internal fluid pressurisation minimises hydrostatic and hydrodynamic effects allowing face material effects to dominate. This allows precise and detailed material performance data to be obtained.
The rig is primarily used to obtain comparative data for a wide range of seal materials, and can also be used for endurance testing purposes.
