Delegates try out modelling software at the Conference ExhibitionCall for Papers

at Multiphase Technology 14

Papers are now invited on any of the technical topics to be covered. To submit a paper, either download our brochure and submit your abstract following the instructions there, or follow our simple 4-step process and submit your abstract on-line:

  • Read the brochure, decide on the title and subject of your paper, and confirm that your paper is eligible
  • Read the terms and conditions below.  Click the Accept button at the bottom to confirm your acceptance.
  • Fill in the web form to tell us about yourself and your paper and submit it
  • Email us with your abstract.

Scope

Papers and case studies are invited on current techniques and new developments under the following topics. Priority will be given to papers that discuss case studies with lessons learnt. Given the everchanging technical demands, the Committee suggests prospective authors should consider the following questions:

  • What is coming next?
  • Where are the new barriers to production?
  • What have we learnt to help us in the future?

Applications

  • Geographical – environmental issues; difficult terrain; deep & ultradeep waters; cold environment; subsea long distance tiebacks; oil sands; sand & particle transport; downhole & seabed processing; wet vs. dry wells; hilly terrain pipeline operations
  • Flows – flow assurance; flowlines & risers; vertical flows; heavy oil flows; rheology/complex fluids; bundles/heating systems; slug management & control; turbulence & wave motion; thermal remediation
  • Application of flow modelling – field validation; modelling in intelligent wells; multi-dimensional modelling; new applications

Technologies

  • Product formulations – emulsions, foams & slurries; hydrates, asphaltenes & waxes; sand & scale
  • Equipment – integrated production systems; multiphase pumping & boosting; separation & separator
  • vessels; multiphase metering; instrumentation & control; raw water re-injection; subsea equipment; pigging
  • Flow simulation – modelling studies; experimental data scale-up
  • Pipeline protection – corrosion & erosion; leak detection in multiphase systems

Selection Criteria and Objectives

The selection of papers will strictly take account of originality, relevance and likely interest to delegates, with priority being given to papers that present new material.  Predominantly theoretical papers are normally expected to include experimental or other practical validation.  Papers must be of a technical nature and must seek to advance the state of the art by improving knowledge or by demonstrating innovative applications of best practice.

Authors who also wish to present commercial material are invited to take an exhibition stand in addition to presenting their technical paper.

It is expected that the Conference will include a variety of session styles, including:

  • Plenary, parallel and poster sessions for the presentation of individual papers
  • Panel sessions focussed on groups of papers addressing common themes
  • Discussion/debate forums led by invited speakers

In allocating papers to sessions the Committee will seek to maximise benefit for all authors and delegates.

All papers will be included in a bound Volume of Papers and CD to be given to delegates at the Symposium.
